ReBUILDetroit Scholars Treated to Red Carpet at Michigan Science Center Gala

ReBUILDetroit scholars from Detroit Mercy enjoyed the Michigan Science Center’s annual gala, thanks to the support of the College of Engineering & Science on May 12.

Scholars had the opportunity to speak with STEM company executives from Detroit and Southeast Michigan about their career paths and futures.

“We [the College of Engineering & Science Board of Advisors] are blown away every time we hear the scholars speak,” said Jack Dolan, ’86 Mechanical Engineering and executive at Fiat Chrysler. “The Board looks forward to hearing from the scholars at our meetings.”

Keynote speaker Fernando Palazuelo, owner of the Packard Plant revitalization, spoke about his commitment to the project and determination of the city to come back from bankruptcy.

The annual black-tie event raised funds to provide STEM opportunities and programs for children statewide.
