DPC celebrates resilience of mentorship during National Mentoring Month

During times of uncertainty, the value of mentorship remains a constant in the scientific community. 

The 2021 National Mentoring Month campaign revealed how Diversity Program Consortium mentors adapted during the COVID-19 pandemic and found creative ways to support their mentees. BUILD student mentees—many of whom are from historically underrepresented groups in the sciences and face regular obstacles on the road to becoming a researcher—experienced extra challenges while learning remotely, but navigated with their mentors’ help. 

Coping with the prolonged pandemic is not unlike a marathon. Read this issue of the DPC newsletter to learn about how mentors and mentees went the extra mile to close the distance between them.
