Christina Jones, ReBUILDetroit scholar from the University of Detroit Mercy majoring in biology, will be conducting her summer research with Dr. Vance Berger in the National Cancer Institute, Division of Cancer Prevention at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland.

Recently, Jones spent two-days visiting the NIH campus as part of the Introduction to Cancer Research Careers (ICRC) program.  While she was there, she interviewed with three principal investigators for summer or post-baccalaureate internship positions.

“I am excited to begin this new chapter, and thankful to continue doing research outside of the ReBUILDetroit program,” said Jones.  “I am so grateful to be a part of this program--it has changed the trajectory of my life in ways I didn't think possible and gave me the confidence I needed to pursue a highly competitive career.”
