The NRMN Steps Towards Academic Research (NRMN STAR) Fellowship Program is one of four professional development program models offered by NRMN through its Professional Development Core.

Participants at the postdoctoral and early career stage faculty levels convene in person and virtually over the course of 12 months to review principles of basic, clinical, and translational research; participate in intensive grantwriting coaching sessions; review biostatistics; and learn techniques for navigating the funding process with NIH and other funding agencies.
